Register an HTTPS address and cometpost will call it when a post goes live, when a post fails for good, when an account needs to be reconnected, or when a post is cancelled. You no longer have to poll to find out what happened.
Each call is signed, following the Standard Webhooks scheme, so you can check it came from cometpost. The signing secret is shown once, and when you replace it the old one keeps working for up to 24 hours so nothing is dropped. You can send a test event, read a log of every delivery, and ask for one to be sent again.
Webhooks are set up through the API for now (there is no dashboard screen yet). AI assistants can read the list and the delivery log but not change them.
Also new: every API response to a key or a connected assistant now carries RateLimit-Limit, RateLimit-Remaining and RateLimit-Reset headers, so a script can see how much of its daily allowance is left.
Free plan now includes 3 connected accounts, and help is one click away #
The Free plan now lets you connect 3 accounts, up from 2.
The sign-in screen, the Account menu and Settings now link to the FAQ and to hello@cometpost.app.
The API now publishes an OpenAPI 3.1 description at https://api.cometpost.app/v1/openapi.json. You do not need a key to fetch it. Use it with a code generator, an API client or an AI agent.
Easier, safer calls for scripts and AI assistants #
List and search your posts, filtered by status, account, date or text, over the API and through an assistant.
Send an Idempotency-Key when creating a post, so retrying after a lost reply does not create a second post.
Check a post without saving it (POST /v1/posts/validate) and ask one account what it can do right now (GET /v1/channels/{id}/prepare).
Upload large video files directly, up to 512 MiB, with a presigned upload.
A post that sets an option the platform does not have is now refused when you schedule it, with the accepted options listed, instead of the option being ignored.
The top bar now has an Account menu with Sign out, and it highlights the page you are on. The dashboard opens with the composer first, and the sign-in screen, plan details and lists have clearer wording.
The composer is reorganized: pick where to post, write, add media, then choose When beside Publish. The platform options that matter most sit above the text.
Pick media from a library with thumbnails and play it in place. Files a platform cannot take are shown as unavailable, with the formats it accepts.
A preview for each destination shows the text as it will be sent, the media, any problem that blocks it, and what will actually happen, so the preview does not promise more than the platform will do.
A scheduled post can be edited until 30 seconds before it goes out. After that the post page shows it as publishing.
Free plan video allowance, rescheduling and a connect-an-assistant card #
The Free plan's 3 videos a month are now counted and shown as a meter on the dashboard and the Plan page. A video you reuse in several posts counts once, and drafts and cancelled posts do not count.
You can move a scheduled destination to a new time from the post page.
The dashboard has a card for connecting an AI assistant: the server address with a copy button, three set-up steps and a prompt to paste into Claude or ChatGPT.
Settings, Account now has a delete option. It asks you to type your email, needs a recent sign-in, stops posts that have not started publishing, removes cometpost's access to your connected accounts, deletes your stored media and data, and sends one confirmation email.
You can connect a YouTube channel. Until Google finishes its audit of our API access, videos uploaded through cometpost stay private. Platform status is kept up to date on the API and MCP page.
Add https://mcp.cometpost.app/mcp as a connector in Claude or ChatGPT. The assistant sends you to sign in, then to a consent page where you choose which accounts it may use and whether it may schedule on its own. Scheduling is off by default, so it creates drafts for you to review.
See every connected assistant and revoke one at any time in Settings, Connected assistants. Revoking takes effect on its next request.
