Meta approved cometpost's Instagram publishing access in September 2026. cometpost does not read your direct messages or your follower list.

How it works

  1. Sign in to cometpost with Google and connect your Instagram professional account from the dashboard.
  2. Approve the permissions on Instagram's own screen. cometpost asks only for what it needs to identify the account and publish what you schedule.
  3. Attach your images and write the caption, or let an assistant draft the post through the MCP server or API, then pick a time.
  4. cometpost checks the images against Instagram's rules before scheduling, so a file Instagram will refuse is caught up front with the reason.

Limits worth knowing

  • Not supported: Reels, video, Stories and text-only posts.
  • cometpost does not convert images. A PNG is refused rather than converted to JPEG.
  • The Free plan includes 3 Channels. An Instagram account is one Channel.
