Data Deletion Instructions

Last updated: · Deletion requests: privacy@cometpost.app

This page explains how to delete your cometpost account and everything associated with it, and how to revoke cometpost's access to each social media account you connected. You do not need an account, a login or a support ticket to read or use these instructions.

1. If cometpost has not launched yet

cometpost is still in development, and this website holds no personal data about you at all. There is no account, no sign-up and no mailing list; the site sets no cookies and runs no tracking. There is nothing here to delete.

The one exception is if you have emailed us. In that case we hold your message and your address in our mailbox. Email privacy@cometpost.app with the subject “Delete my correspondence” and we delete it within 7 days and confirm by reply.

The rest of this page describes deletion once the application launches and you have an account.

2. Delete your account in cometpost

Once the application is live, this is the fastest route and it is entirely self-service:

  1. Sign in at app.cometpost.app.
  2. Go to Settings → Account.
  3. Select Delete account.
  4. Read the summary of what will be deleted, then confirm by typing your email address.

Deletion starts immediately. Any post you had scheduled but not yet published is cancelled at that moment and will not go out.

3. Request deletion by email

If you cannot sign in, or you would rather we do it, email privacy@cometpost.app with the subject “Data deletion request”.

Please send it from the email address on the account, and include:

  • the email address of your cometpost account;
  • whether you want the whole account deleted, or only specific data — see section 7; and
  • if you signed in through a platform login, which one.

If you cannot email us from the account address, we will ask you for another way to verify that the account is yours. We do this to stop someone else deleting your data.

Our response times:

  • we acknowledge the request within 3 business days;
  • we verify your identity and complete the deletion within 30 days of the request; and
  • we email you to confirm when it is done.

These requests are free. If a request is unusually complex we may need more time, and if so we will tell you why before the 30 days are up.

4. What gets deleted, and when

DataWhat happensWhen

Account deletion is permanent. We cannot restore a deleted account, its drafts or its history — please export anything you want to keep first.

5. Revoke cometpost's access on each platform

Deleting your cometpost account already revokes and deletes the tokens we hold. You can also revoke access yourself, directly on each platform, at any time — including before deleting anything, and as a belt-and-braces check afterwards. Revoking on the platform takes effect immediately and stops cometpost from publishing to that account.

TikTok

  1. Open the TikTok app and go to Profile → Menu → Settings and privacy.
  2. Select Security & permissions (or Security), then Manage app permissions / Authorised apps.
  3. Select cometpost and choose Remove / Revoke access.

Google and YouTube

  1. Go to myaccount.google.com/permissions.
  2. Find cometpost under “Third-party apps with account access”.
  3. Select it and choose Remove access.

Facebook Pages and Instagram

  1. Go to facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools, or in the app: Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites (business integrations).
  2. Find cometpost in the list.
  3. Select Remove, and tick the option to delete posts and activity from the app if it is offered.

Instagram professional accounts connected through Meta appear under the same Facebook business-integrations list. For an Instagram account connected directly, go to Instagram → Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites and remove cometpost there.

Threads

  1. Open Threads and go to Settings → Account → Website permissions (or the equivalent apps-and-websites screen).
  2. Find cometpost and remove it.

Threads permissions granted via Meta may also appear in the Facebook business-integrations list above.

X

  1. Go to x.com/settings/connected_apps.
  2. Select cometpost.
  3. Choose Revoke app permissions.

Platform interfaces change. If a menu path above no longer matches what you see, search that platform's settings for “apps”, “connected apps” or “permissions”, or email privacy@cometpost.app and we will walk you through it.

6. Posts that were already published

Content that cometpost already published lives on that platform, under your account. It is not ours to delete and it is not affected by deleting your cometpost account or revoking access. To remove it, delete the post on the platform itself, using that platform's own tools.

7. Deleting only some data

You do not have to delete everything to delete something. You can:

  • Disconnect one platform account — in cometpost, go to Settings → Connected accounts and select Disconnect. Its tokens and cached profile data are deleted and posts scheduled to it are cancelled; the rest of your account is untouched.
  • Delete individual posts or drafts — delete them in cometpost; the media attached to them is removed too.
  • Delete correspondence — ask us to delete an email exchange you had with us.
  • Export first — ask privacy@cometpost.app for a copy of your data in a portable format before you delete anything.

Your other rights over your data — access, correction, restriction, objection — are set out in the privacy policy.
