Schedule YouTube videos

Upload a video to your YouTube channel at a time you choose, through YouTube's official API, from the dashboard or from your AI assistant.

What you can post

StatusLive
ContentOne video per post. Every YouTube post needs a video; there is no text-only post.
Video formatsMP4, MOV, AVI, WMV, FLV, 3GP, WebM and MPEG.
File sizeYouTube accepts very large files, but cometpost's own upload limit is 512 MiB per file.
TitleRequired, 1 to 100 characters.
DescriptionUp to 5,000 characters. The post text becomes the video description.
VisibilityPublic. cometpost does not offer a privacy choice.
AccountA YouTube channel, connected with Continue with YouTube through Google's own sign-in screen.

cometpost asks Google for two permissions: to upload videos, and to read your channel so it can tell which channel you connected. It does not manage your channel, comments or playlists.

How it works

  1. Sign in to cometpost with Google, then choose Continue with YouTube in the dashboard to connect your channel.
  2. Approve the permissions on Google's own screen.
  3. Attach the video, write the title and description, then pick a time. Or let an assistant draft the post through the MCP server or API.
  4. cometpost checks the file against YouTube's rules before scheduling, so a file YouTube will refuse is caught up front with the reason. At the scheduled time it uploads the video and the dashboard shows whether it published, or why it failed.

Limits worth knowing

  • Only a title and a description are sent. Not supported: thumbnails, tags, playlists, categories, a privacy setting, and Shorts-specific options.
  • cometpost does not transcode video. A file YouTube cannot take is refused rather than converted.
  • The Free plan includes 3 Channels and 3 distinct videos scheduled per calendar month. A YouTube channel is one Channel. See pricing.
  • Uploads go through cometpost's own media upload, which takes files up to 512 MiB.
  • Publishing is final: cometpost cannot recall a video once it is live.

Questions

What does cometpost send to YouTube?

The video file, a title and a description. The title is the one field you must fill in. Nothing else is set: no thumbnail, tags, playlist or category.

Are my videos public?

Yes. Uploads publish publicly, and cometpost has no privacy option. If you want to review before anything goes live, schedule nothing and keep the post as a draft.

Can an AI assistant publish to my channel?

Only if you allow it. An assistant you connect creates drafts by default, and a person reviews and schedules them in the dashboard. You can grant scheduling when you approve the assistant. See the quickstart.

How many accounts can I connect on Free?

Three Channels, with no card. A YouTube channel is one Channel. The Free plan also allows 3 distinct videos scheduled per month; paid plans are described on the pricing page.

Which file types work?

MP4, MOV, AVI, WMV, FLV, 3GP, WebM and MPEG, up to 512 MiB through cometpost.
